Des Moines, WA – September 20–21, 2025 — The 5th Annual Des Moines Marina Oktoberfest turned the scenic waterfront into a lively Bavarian village earlier this month, drawing the largest crowds in the event’s history. Over two unforgettable days, locals and visitors alike gathered at the Quarterdeck to raise their steins, feast on authentic German fare, and celebrate community spirit with music, dancing, and plenty of fall fun.

From the first bratwurst to the final pour, Oktoberfest 2025 delivered an experience to remember:

  • A Feast of Bavarian Flavors – Hungry festivalgoers savored bratwurst, pretzels, and other classic dishes, perfectly paired with craft beers from beloved local breweries.

  • Live Music & Entertainment – High-energy bands filled the air with polkas, singalongs, and Oktoberfest favorites, keeping the dance floor lively well into the night.

  • Family Fun Zone – Kids enjoyed games, crafts, and activities designed just for them, making the event a true all-ages celebration.

  • Exclusive Merchandise & Raffles – Limited-edition Oktoberfest gear and prize-filled raffles added even more excitement to the weekend.

  • The Ultimate Chicken Dance – Festivalgoers of all ages joined in on the spirited tradition, creating some of the weekend’s most memorable moments.

One lucky attendee also walked away with $250 in local dining gift cards, thanks to the festival’s sweepstakes that ran from August 19 to September 21. The winner, announced on September 23, now has plenty of reasons to keep celebrating at Des Moines restaurants.

“With record attendance, perfect weather, and an unbeatable waterfront setting, this year’s Oktoberfest captured everything we love about fall in Des Moines,” said Bettina Carey, Director of Des Moines Marina Oktoberfest. “It’s about great food, great music, and coming together as a community.”

As the sun set over the marina each evening, visitors raised their glasses one last time, marking the end of a weekend that celebrated tradition, community, and the magic of autumn on the water.
