Don’t miss this moment to celebrate, reflect, and rise. RSVP at thewonderofwomen.org

Juneteenth marks the day on June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This moment symbolized delayed justice and the ongoing fight for Black liberation. Over time, Juneteenth became a celebration of freedom, resilience, and culture, recognized as a federal holiday in 2021. Today, it serves as a powerful reminder of both historical progress and the work still ahead in achieving racial equity.
