There's always a certain buzz in Seattle in October, it's that sharp change in the air when our city embraces possibility. This year that buzz is building towards one of the season's most significant events, the Seattle Sports Commission’s Women in Leadership Breakfast, which is once again taking place on October 16 at The Westin Seattle.

If you've been here before, then you'll understand that this isn't merely breakfast; it's a room filled with momentum. It's a morning when women from all areas of sports, business, media, technology, and community leadership come together to learn from each other, make connections, and raise one another's profiles. It's a true reflection of Seattle, cooperative, bold, and eager to grow.

The theme for this year, "Upping Your Game", encourages each of us to examine more closely the beliefs which hold us back, the habits which help us move forward, and the well-being practices that support us. It is about embracing leadership with clarity, courage, and compassion, and doing so together. The morning session starts with Kellyn Smith Kenny, AT&T's Chief Marketing & Growth Officer, and is then followed by Kaiser Permanente's "Playing with the Generations" panel, which includes powerful leaders from the Seattle Convention Center, Copacino Fujikado of Remote Broadcast & Production, and Avery Barnes of the Gallery. The panel will be moderated by Sheridan Blanford from the Seattle Storm and is expected to offer honest discussion, shared experiences, and practical insights.

Attendees will also experience special performances and be among the first to hear the announcement of this year’s WISE Seattle Women of Inspiration Award honorees. The morning then closes with reflections from Ruchika T. Malhotra, author of Uncompete and Inclusion on Purpose, who will guide us into what it truly means to “Up Your Game” with collaboration at its heart.

Before the program starts, guests have the opportunity to browse the Kaiser Permanente Marketplace powered by Intentionalist, which includes ten outstanding women-owned businesses. That's one of my favorite parts of the morning, it's a chance to shop locally, meet the entrepreneurs, and back the women who are helping to shape Seattle's creative and cultural scene. With the addition of free professional headshots, pop-up events from Seattle Reign FC, Seattle Storm, Seattle Torrent, and WISE Seattle, and plenty of time to interact with leaders from all over the region, the morning ends up being both invigorating and deeply reassuring.

Seattle flourishes whenever we support each other. This breakfast creates an opportunity for mentorship to emerge, ideas to be generated, and community to grow stronger. If you're leading a team, launching a business, going through a career change, or just want some inspiration, this event will give you what you need. And since women's leadership is promoting innovation in sports, business, and civic life this year, your presence matters. Your voice is important. Your growth is important.

Individual tickets and tables are now on sale, and you can choose virtual attendance as well.

We'll be there. We'll learn. We'll celebrate the women who are helping to shape the future of sports, and the future of Seattle. See you there!
