Seattle’s holiday season shines brighter thanks to Providence O’Christmas Trees, a cherished tradition that blends festive joy with meaningful impact. More than just a dazzling display of beautifully decorated trees, this annual celebration is a lifeline for thousands of individuals across Western Washington who rely on Providence Home and Community Care.

For over 160 years, Providence has been a pillar of compassion in the Puget Sound region, providing health care, housing, and supportive services to people of all ages, especially the poor and vulnerable. O’Christmas Trees is more than a fundraiser; it’s a community gathering that ensures this mission continues to thrive. The magic of the event lies in its purpose. Funds raised provide vital support for Providence Home and Community Care programs, enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing chronic or life-limiting conditions. From hospice care to supportive housing, Providence delivers dignity, comfort, and a true sense of belonging to every person it serves.

This holiday tradition reminds us that the season is about more than lights and ornaments, it’s about community, compassion, and connection. Every tree tells a story, and every donation helps Providence continue its vision: to uplift lives with care that is both simple and powerful.

The generosity of O’Christmas Trees supporters sustains programs across Western Washington, including assisted living and skilled nursing at Providence Mount St. Vincent, Providence Marianwood, and Heritage House at the Market. It supports home health through Providence Home Services, hospice care through Providence Hospice of Seattle, and housing through Providence Supportive Housing. It also sustains Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services and the Providence Elder Place program, which provides all-inclusive care for the elderly. Each of these services reflects Providence’s unwavering commitment to equity, belonging, and care for those who need it most.

This year’s celebration unfolds over three festive days at The Westin Seattle. On December 1, the Family Preview Night welcomes the community from 4:00–7:00 p.m. with free admission. Guests can stroll through the ballroom to view all of the famous Christmas trees, each one donated, uniquely decorated, and destined for auction. Families can vote for their favorite tree, take photos among the dazzling displays, and even capture a holiday memory with Santa before the trees find their new homes. On December 2, the Silver Bells Luncheon runs from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., bringing together friends, supporters, and partners for a midday celebration filled with holiday spirit. On December 3, the Providence O’Christmas Trees Gala takes center stage from 5:00–9:00 p.m., where the beautifully decorated trees are auctioned off in an elegant evening of generosity, community, and holiday magic.

O’Christmas Trees is more than a gala; it’s a celebration of Seattle’s spirit. Local artists, businesses, and families come together to create breathtaking holiday displays, while guests bid on trees, enjoy performances, and share in the joy of giving. The event embodies what makes Seattle special: a community that shows up for one another, especially during the holidays.

This year’s Providence O’Christmas Trees invites you to be part of the magic. Whether you attend in person, bid online, or simply spread the word, your support ensures that Providence can continue to provide hospice, home care, assisted living, and housing for those who need it most.
