By Linda Lowry – Social in Seattle
In this special Social in Seattle feature, I had the joy of sitting down with Rick Rizzs, the legendary voice of the Seattle Mariners and a longtime champion of the Cystic Fibrosis community. Filmed at the Mariners’ annual Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament, our conversation explores Rick’s decades-long commitment to this cause, the more than $7 million raised through the event, and the families and moments that have shaped his connection to CF over the years.
We also talk about legacy, Rick’s nearly forty seasons behind the mic, the emotion of stepping into retirement, and the impact he hopes to leave on Mariners fans, fellow broadcasters, and the Seattle community he’s helped uplift for generations. It’s a heartfelt, funny, and deeply meaningful conversation with one of the most beloved voices in Northwest sports.
I’m honored to share this interview and celebrate Rick’s extraordinary career, his unwavering dedication to giving back, and the Mariners family’s commitment to making a difference.
